I turned 50 today. I remember my father saying on his fiftieth birthday that it felt like the second 25 years moved a lot faster than the first 25. He was right about that.

Things I have accomplished:
-graduating college
-earning an MA
-becoming an adjunct instructor (24 years now)
-taking care of my father during his illness so he could stay at home
-buying a car
-writing over 300 fanfics
-continuing to be able to walk
-educating several thousand students
-maintaining online friendships for over two decades
-helping my mother while she is ill
-tracing one branch of my family tree back over 2000 years
-surviving a pulmonary embolism
