What an absolutely fascinating essay. You described succinctly and with not a word wasted the many problems (plus the good points) of these three characters.
I was particularly impressed with the section on Andrew, a character who I personally loathe with a fiery passion (the only Jossverse character I feel that way about) because what you say about him explains so clearly just why I feel that way and I've never really been able to articulate it to myself very well.
I also enjoyed the parallels between Riley's 'helicopter moment' in AYW and the final Andrew scene in TGiQ. I hadn't in fact noticed there were parallels but now it's obvious.
