Oh, there are a LOT of people out there who think there was misogyny present in Buffy/Riley's breakup, and your comparison with the audience reminds me of what many people said about the Spuffy relationship in season 6; Marti was projecting an eeeensy bit too much on Buffy in that, methinks.
Yeah, "The Girl in Question" is sort of painful to watch. Seemed like a waste of a perfectly good opportunity to use Juliet Landau and Julie Benz better, too.
