That's a really interesting reading I hadn't heard or considered before. It certainly makes sense! Maybe you should write some meta on the matter. I know I read many, many moons ago (1998 or 99, I think), how Buffy/Angel were a modern re-telling of ancient goddess/warrior queen legends where the powerful fighter/ruler/creatrix was symbolized by Buffy, and Angel was her consort/helpmate, as in the God and Goddess in modern Wicca. I wish I could put my hands on that essay now, but I suspect it's on my old computer. :(
