I know a few people in the fandom who genuinely hate Buffy with a fiery passion. That always seemed ironic to me, considering the name of the show.

It reminds me a bit of the reactions I sometimes get about my job, as a 911 dispatcher; that is, finding fault in Buffy's character is a lot easier if you haven't walked a mile in her shoes.
