I never realised that Andrew was so disliked, I've always liked him, although I can certainly see why he would annoy people. Riley I didn't particularly care for because I didn't personally feel that MB had the charisma to carry off the lead male role. And his relationship with Buffy, and the condescending attitude towards her, did bother me. Maybe part of the problem was that he was introduced with very black and white thinking, and as part of the iniative, so he never really did fit in. The iniative was introduced in order to clash with the scoobies way of doing things, but in season 5 we see that Riley stills misses being a part of the iniative, and following orders from a higher authoring, yet Bts was introduced as always being distrustful of characters such as Synder and the Mayor
And I hated Kennedy more than I've ever hated a character before I think. It was in GID that really killed it for me. When she calls Chloe a maggot, and then skips over to Buffy to giggle that hey check me out, I just called that girl a maggot teehee. What a nasty little bully. Viewers who started watching the scoobies with as outsiders, and were encouraged to dislike Cordelia and Harmony's put-downs, were never going to find that sort of invidivual appealing to watch. And ITA on not understanding Willow's attraction to her, when she had little in common with Willow's type. She seemed to immediately zero in on Willow, talk her way into sharing Willow's room, and it was just creepy and clunkily done. It was very obvious that she was introduced to be the other lesbian of the show, and therefore of course she would be Willow's new gf, never mind clashing personality types. It made about as much sense as Willow getting together with Faith, which I know appealed to a lot of fan fic writers, but could anyone really see it happening on the show and making sense?
