The vampire incident certainly threw me! I honestly think it was totally out of character for him by any stretch of the imagination, although certainly good explanations have been offered for it.
The post-Chosen Riley I write is still the good soldier and means well in general, although he's befuddled by females -- especially his wife and Buffy.
