Apparently I'll be crying myself to sleep tonight. The whole avoidance of the bedroom -- it reminded me of how, after he died, Martha Washington shut up the room she and George had shared for 40 years and never slept there again. The way your Remus tries to reclaim the tomb of the room in spite of all the pain -- tragic.
