I found a pin on Pinterest discussing writing, and how when someone was asked what they were writing about, they said something to the effect of, just fanfic, but it was pointed out that that's a genre, not what's it about. And I realized I've been writing about
-nightmares about past failings and the universality of that experience
-love for someone is never truly gone and a bit of that person remains permanently in the other's heart
-anger at family and beneath it is a desire for acceptance along with the concept of mortality
-friendship often means protecting someone regardless of the personal cost
-vulnerability can be manipulated and weaponized in both directions
-choosing one's own path in spite of sacrifices
-battling inner demons and that it's okay to ask for help rather than letting oneself be destroyed
-feelings of inadequacy and the desire to find acceptance and love
-love in spite of boundaries and the creativity to overcome them
-misogyny as a lethal force, the after-effects of violence, and the healing power of patience and love
-finding resiliency in dark times through friendship, humor, and an ability to recognize the absurdity of the world
So... yeah. That was affirming.
